RightWorks is seeking an Environmental Planning Program Manager - NEPA Specialist for their New Jersey and Philadelphia team. The role involves leading a multidisciplinary team, overseeing daily operations, and driving client development in environmental planning services. Candidates should have experience in ecology, wetlands, NEPA, and cultural resources. Responsibilities include managing project delivery, safety protocols, and collaborating with regional leadership to foster growth in the practice.
My client- a 100% employee-owned company, is seeking a growth-oriented Environmental Planning Manager for our New Jersey and Philadelphia team. We are looking for candidates with the ability to build and lead a multidisciplinary team with expertise in biology across multiple northeastern species, waters of the U.S./permitting, NEPA, and cultural resources.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
• Conduct client development activities and work with our team to grow environmental planning services in the northeast—including Pennsylvania, New York, & New Jersey
• Prepare proposals, including scope of work and fee, for existing and new clients
• Work with an existing environmental team to deliver work products and consulting solutions for clients
• Work proactively with account managers from our National Client Account Program for successful, timely, project delivery in the northeast
• Collaborate with department managers and environmental staff in our long-established northeastern offices
• Oversee and manage the success of the key group metrics of retention, revenue growth, staff chargeability, project billing and collections, and project profitability
• Employ best practices for risk management and loss prevention; be familiar with company risk policies
• Lead safety efforts for project team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines
• Possess strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
• Possess skills to become Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one of more environmental/technical areas
• Understand and implement technical requirements to complete client projects by directing and supervising field staff to sample, test and collect data and/or document site activities
• Perform site visits, field observations and field data collection in area of technical expertise

Requirements:
• Demonstrated senior level experience in at least one of the services listed in the first paragraph, with a preference in New York and/or New England states
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Engineering, Geology, Archaeology, or related discipline
• 10 years of experience in the practice area
• Demonstrated experience with federal and state agency consultation
• Preference will be given to those who have experience with Section 401/404 permitting
• Ability to travel out of town between 10% and 20% of the normal work week
• Flexible work schedule, to ensure project timelines are completed
• Possess strong writing skills
• Attention to detail, note taking skills
• Ability to work on a team and build networks across the division and company
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
