Environmental Monitoring Technician

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Integrated Vegetation Management Technician to join our team. This is a seasonal position that involves promoting awareness of invasive species and integrated vegetation management practices on behalf of clients. The technician will be responsible for collecting data regularly to monitor, manage, and report on the state of invasive species in a defined area.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in natural resources, forestry, or environmental science and be able to operate ATV's and pick-up trucks safely. They must be able to work outside in a range of weather conditions and be physically fit to walk in rough terrain areas. The ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and communicate effectively with all levels of employees is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
• Inventory and control of vegetation (native/invasive) throughout BC and Alberta.
• Selecting and implementing suitable management and control practices.
• Promoting awareness of invasive species and integrated vegetation management practices to the public.
• Collecting and interpreting vegetation population data and monitoring control efficacy.
• Complying with federal, provincial, and local laws, rules, and regulations.
