Environmental Health Safety Specialist

TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking an Environmental Health Safety Specialist in Summerville, SC, with a salary of $90k - $95k. The role involves developing safety policies, ensuring compliance with regulations, conducting training, and managing emergency preparedness. Candidates should have an associate’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, eight years of manufacturing safety experience, and OSHA 30 Certification. This is a full-time, direct hire position.

Responsibilities
• Plan, develop, administer, and manage organization safety policies, programs, and training for emergency preparedness
• Provide innovative, strategic solutions to drive a secure environmental culture
• Design and develop facilities, work areas, and procedures, including hazardous analysis, work area layouts, ergonomic work evaluations, etc.
• Prepare and update environmental, health and safety policies, manuals and training
• Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal EHS regulations, particularly SDS, HAZMAT, and OSHA
• Resolve escalated issues arising from operations or safety concerns
• Ensure all team members and new team members complete annual compliance training
• Conduct accident investigation and safety tours
• Ensure Environmental ISO14001 compliance

Qualifications
• Associate’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field preferred
• Eight (8) years of manufacturing related safety experience
• Experience leading 5S initiatives, job hazard analyses, work area layouts, etc.
• OSHA 30 Certification
• Plant start-up experience preferred
