The Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking an Environmental Health Insp Prog Evaluator for the Ashland, KY location. This position will oversee Community Section Programs within the Environmental Management Branch for the Eastern Kentucky Region.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To The Following
• Responsible for providing technical assistance to local health departments, industry, professional groups, parallel agencies, and the general public regarding all Environmental Health Community Programs which include Onsite Sewage Disposal Systems, Onsite Sewage Installers, Disposal Sites, Septic Tank Servicing, Private Water Sampling and Public Health Nuisances.
• Evaluate state environmental health inspection programs as part of the Quality Assurance program.
• Develop, review, and update Community Section regulations. Provide testimony as required at legislative meetings.
• Develop training for environmentalists on current and updated Community Section regulations.
• Assist with development and coordination of potential future programs and sub-programs.
• Attend meetings as requested and provides assistance in the absence of the Community Section Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree with a minor or twenty-four (24) semester hours in environmental health, biological health or physical science.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Must have three years of professional regulatory experience or experience in health administration, health service occupation, milk/food laboratory quality control or milk/food industry.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): Must be registered as an Environmental Health Specialist/Sanitarian under the provisions of KRS 223 within twelve (12) months of appointment and maintain this registration for the length of employment in this job title. https://chfs.ky.gov/agencies/dph/dphps/emb/Pages/sanitarians.aspx .

Working Conditions

Incumbents working in this job title will require frequent traveling to conduct inspections.
