General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for an enthusiastic team member with the environmental, health and safety (EHS) team. The position provides an opportunity to enhance the performance and profitability of an organization that supports some of our nation’s fundamental defense services. ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH & SAFETY ASSOCIATE

Primary Role

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES AND TASKS:

Manages all hazardous and regulated waste for the campus (to include handling, accumulation, profiling and disposal coordination)

Maintains files and records including waste documentation and logs for compliance and reporting

Evaluate current waste handling practices and work to improve the process while continuing to support the customer

Spill response and clean up

Gathers and reports EHS related information and metrics to management

Additional Tasks

Evaluates potential environmental, health and safety (EHS) hazards in work areas

Assists in the development of EHS policies and procedures and administers employee/contractor training

Performs internal audits and supports external audits for ISO and environmental and safety/health compliance

Reports accidents to management and logs all accident investigations

Assist with performing accident investigations and determines/implements corrective action

Supports

Sampling and analyzing the workplace environment for possible exposure to any of the following: chemicals, radiation, smoke, fumes, gases, vapors, noise and lighting

Conduct evaluations of controls for employee exposure (such as ventilation or noise)

Open to new ideas and can serve as a champion for change and acts to support change when directed from management

Interfaces with all levels of employees and management, internal/external customers, auditors and vendors as well as regulatory agencies

Target salary range: USD $32.65/Hr. - USD $35.02/Hr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
