About the position

As an Environmental Engineer at our manufacturing plant in Springfield, Missouri, you will be instrumental in applying environmental science principles to enhance public health, mitigate pollution, and eliminate environmental hazards. Your role will encompass a variety of responsibilities aimed at ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting sustainable practices within the organization. You will conduct thorough land assessments to evaluate the environmental impact of industrial, commercial, or residential sites, particularly in scenarios where construction is planned. This involves utilizing specialized equipment for environmental testing, including soil, water, and air quality assessments at construction sites. In addition to assessments, you will be responsible for designing and improving waste management systems to ensure the safe disposal of waste materials. Your expertise will be crucial in overseeing the reclamation and disposal of air, water, and land resources, as well as developing innovative site cleanup solutions during construction projects. You will evaluate existing systems and design new methodologies to enhance or replace them, ensuring that our practices are both effective and compliant with regulatory standards. Field observations and data collection will be a significant part of your role, as you will conduct fieldwork to gather samples for environmental analysis. You will also investigate environmental complaints, compiling detailed reports to address any issues that arise. Your work will include developing guidelines for the proper disposal of hazardous materials and acting as a regulatory arm to ensure compliance with various waste disposal and management regulations. This includes adherence to air regulations, wastewater standards, stormwater management, spill prevention protocols, and chemical management regulations, among others. Your commitment to maintaining compliance with the ISO 14001 Standard will be essential in promoting environmental stewardship within the company.

Requirements
• BA/BS in Environmental, Health or Safety or related field is required.
