Job Description

Cameron LNG LLC is seeking an Environmental Coordinator in Hackberry, LA, to implement environmental programs and ensure compliance with regulations regarding water and waste management, pollution prevention, and hazardous waste. The role involves conducting training, auditing, and providing technical support while maintaining knowledge of environmental laws. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree and at least three years of relevant experience. A TWIC credential is required, and proximity to the plant site is necessary.
Primary Purpose:

Under general supervision, implements programs, policies, procedures and processes in support of Cameron’s environmental strategies, including but not limited to: water & waste compliance, emergency response, chemical and hazardous waste management, pollution prevention and waste minimization, permitting assistance, aspects of environmental management systems, and assistance with other general environmental tasks. Also, maintains good working knowledge of a wide variety of environmental regulations and issues, as well as proposed changes. The Environmental Coordinator is responsible for performing environmental tasks to ensure efficient and accurate reporting and compliance with the various federal, state and local regulatory requirements in support of the LNG facility. Other duties may include conducting training and assisting in auditing, providing technical advice to other departments, assisting in the preparation of presentations and technical reports, as well as interpretation of data.

This position will be located in Hackberry, Louisiana. Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC) will be required. Employees’ primary residence must be located within a one-hour drive from the Hackberry plant site. This measure will assure that response time for callouts is kept to a minimum, which increases the safety of our employees in an unexpected or emergent situation.

Responsibilities/Duties:
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, permit conditions, site-specific conditions, requirements, policies or other authorizing documents required by federal, state and local regulatory agencies.
• Conduct sampling testing and reporting of water and waste to meet the requirements of any and all federal, state and local environmental regulatory development and/or operational permits and conditions/requirements.
• Interface with federal, state and local agencies, and assist with the communication and coordination of company activities including field visits and data requests.
• Audit and assist with the management of environmental files at the LNG facility. Document and report environmental conditions to Management as needed or as requested for environmental performance.
• Provide environmental representation, advice, training, guidance and support to LNG Operations & Maintenance staff.
• Support clean-up and mitigation efforts involving spills/releases to the environment and may perform initial notifications to regulatory agencies.
• Participate in investigations of environmental incidents, and root cause analysis of environment issues.
• Responsible for permitting and compliance for maintenance dredging including Agency interface, monitoring, and reporting.
• Participate in planning and execution of projects and maintenance activities that have a potential for environmental impacts.
• Evaluate and identify federal, state and local permit requirements and assist in the development and execution of permits and/or execution strategy.

Qualifications:

Education:
• Bachelor Degree preferred in Applied Science, Engineering, Environmental Science or other equivalent education.

Experience:
• Minimum of three (3) years environmental or regulatory compliance experience with working knowledge of environmental permits and monitoring requirements

Skills/ Knowledge/ Abilities:
• Familiar with local, state, and federal environmental and regulatory permitting.
• Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
• Organized and able to manage multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy.
• Problem solving and analytical skills.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local environmental laws, policies and issues.
• Efficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite consisting of Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
• Possess a general understanding of LNG (or other cryogenic hydrocarbon liquids) transportation, storage and processing including safety, environmental, maintenance, operations, governmental regulations and associated codes and standards. Familiarity with environmental, designs and specifications, and requirements/regulations to develop and operate LNG facilities. Understand the various applicable federal, state and local environmental laws, regulations, codes, standards, and permits required to develop and operate an LNG facility, including but not limited to: DOT, OSHA, USCG, NFPA, the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Natural Gas Act, RCRA, EPCRA, SARA reporting, SPCC, CERCLA TSCA, and participation in emergency response planning, techniques and reporting.

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to stand, walk, climb, run, sit, kneel, twist, bend, pull, push, carry, lift, reach overhead and drive. Most activities involve movement of either the upper and lower body extremities or both and the joints associated with these areas of the body.
• Must be able to enter confined spaces.
• Must be able to climb stairs and ladders that ranges from 4 ft to 200 ft.
• Must be able to lift equipment needed to perform work.
• Must be able to wear safety equipment such as safety harness, respirator and other protective equipment as needed to perform job.
• Must be willing to be on call, work overtime as required and handle emergency response responsibilities.
• Must be willing to travel for trainings as required.

DOT Requirements:

The U.S Department of Transportation (DOT) and the company have adopted regulations governing the control of drug use by persons in certain job classifications. This position is subject to the Federal Pipelines Regulation; and is stipulated in the 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) part 40 that requires drug and alcohol testing and must meet the testing standards.
