Job Description
AVENTA is seeking an Environmental Coordinator in Pontoise, France. Responsibilities include submitting environmental data for permits, reporting statistics, supporting the Project Construction team, ensuring compliance with environmental policies, and managing waste disposal. The role requires an internationally recognized qualification in Environmental Management and at least 5 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Strong communication skills in English and proficiency in business applications are essential.
Role summary
your main responsibilities will be to:
• Ensure the timely submission of necessary Environmental data to obtain environmental permits.
• Collate and report monthly Environmental statistics in a timely manner to the Corporate HSE team.
• Provide direct support to the Project Construction team.
• Ensure that operational activities comply with relevant Project Environmental policies and procedures.
• Monitor the correct collection, transport, and disposal of wastes in accordance with Local regulations, Company requirements, and Project HSE Policy.
• Prepare and monitor the implementation of the Environmental Management Plan and other environmental-related project procedures and plans.
• Participate in the Company’s environmental meetings.
• Provide special advice on environmental best practices.
• Interface with the Corporate HSE Department.
• Ensure that Emergency Response Teams are trained and prepared to cope with emergencies, including oil spills.
• Develop a continuous Environmental performance improvement program for Site and principal contractors’ activities.
• Coordinate internal communications and relations with employees regarding Environmental matters.
• Liaise with the Project HSE Manager on issues involving local and national HSE regulatory bodies on matters of permitting and legal compliance.
• Provide advice and support to the Construction Team on environmental monitoring and Incident investigation and analysis.
Work Experience and education requirements:
• The Job holder should have internationally recognised qualification in Environmental
• Management(IEMA,ISO14001orequivalent) preferably with an engineering background.
• The job holder should have at least 5 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry,
• The job holder must have at least 3 years’ experience in an Environmental role
Soft Skills and Competencies:
• Fluent Level of Business English Language (C2 Level or equivalent)
• Familiarity with business computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
• Goodverbal and written communication skills, including presentation skills
• Very good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to create a friendly working environment
