The role involves managing the Environmental Impact Assessment process, providing expert advice on environmental legislation, and collaborating with legal teams on mining sector projects. An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) to join the dynamic team of a prestigious boutique law firm based in Sandton. The Role:

As the firm's EAP, you will take full ownership of the environmental assessment process, from project initiation through to completion. You will be the go-to expert for all environmental regulatory matters.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Leading and managing the entire Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process for complex projects, particularly within the mining industry.

Providing expert advice and strategic guidance on South African environmental legislation, regulations, and policy.

Conducting comprehensive environmental due diligence and risk assessments to ensure full legal compliance for clients.

Developing effective environmental mitigation strategies and managing all stakeholder engagement processes.

Collaborating closely with legal teams to integrate technical environmental findings with legal advisory services.

Essential Requirements:

You must be a registered Environmental Assessment Practitioner (EAP) with EAPASA.

Essential, in-depth experience working on environmental assessment projects within the mining sector is required.

A Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or a closely related field.

Proven project management skills with the ability to manage complex projects independently and drive them forward.

A strong, practical knowledge of South African environmental legislation.
