Job Description
Bio-Rad Laboratories is seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Specialist in Singapore. The role involves ensuring compliance with EH&S regulations, conducting inspections, coordinating safety data sheets, supporting accident investigations, and conducting training. Candidates should have a diploma in engineering, be a registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer, and have at least 4 years of relevant experience. Strong communication skills and knowledge of EH&S laws are essential.
The main responsibility of the Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist position is to provide continual EH&S oversight and direction to the manufacturing and laboratory personnel to ensure compliance with regulatory, policy and program requirements.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
• Conducts internal/department inspections to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and programs.
• Coordinates generation and distribution of product material safety data sheets.
• Support accident investigation and corrective action implementation as designated by EH&S management.
• Complete annual regulatory submissions including Business Plans, Waste Summaries, and Air emission totals.
• Contribute as a member of the Medical Emergency Response Team and Spill Response Team, and respond to emergency situations as needed.
• Conduct training as directed.
• Perform ergonomic evaluations.
• Generate/manage related MS Data systems.
• Provides recommendations on potential operational hazards for review, support, and direction.
• Work with operations staff to conduct exposure evaluation and accident recreation.
• Coordinates EH&S audits and tracks corrective actions and completes necessary documentation.
What You Bring:
• Diploma in a Engineering discipline, and is a MOM registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer
• Well versed in the WSHE legislations and regulations, and knowledge of chemical substance regulations and EH&S Laws
• Minimum 4 years of related work experience
• Experience in executing risk assessment and controls strategies
• Experience with completing and submitting EH&S-related reports to appropriate regulatory agencies
• Ability to work with multiple levels of authority and responsibility
• Analytical and decision making skills including the ability to apply scientific reasoning to identify potential problems and associated solutions.
• Time management, multitasking, and problem solving skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills, including conducting training.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including documentation of activities in correspondence to ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and programs.
• Knowledge of IATA regulation and packaging
