Job Description

Natek Corporation is seeking an Energy Engineer for a remote/hybrid role based in Connecticut. The position involves conducting site visits to identify energy-saving opportunities, preparing technical reports, and reviewing engineering documentation. Candidates should have a degree in Engineering, experience in energy efficiency, and proficiency in energy modeling tools. This role emphasizes advancing energy efficiency and decarbonization in commercial and industrial sectors.
Overview Energy Engineer | Energy Efficiency

Location: Remote / Hybrid, based in Connecticut (work from home with site visits & client meetings)

Our client is a leader in advancing energy efficiency, decarbonization, and demand-side management programs across the commercial and industrial sector. Their mission is to reduce energy usage and emissions through technical expertise, innovative program design, and impactful market engagement strategies.

Responsibilities Conduct independent site visits at commercial and industrial facilities to identify and quantify energy-saving opportunities.

Prepare technical reports, customer-facing documentation, and internal memos summarizing project economics and recommendations.

Review and validate customer-submitted engineering documentation for incentive eligibility.

Stay current on emerging technologies, building systems, and industry best practices related to energy efficiency and decarbonization.

Participate in stakeholder meetings, workshops, and trainings to share findings and support continuous program improvement.

Required Education & Experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering (or related field).

Hands-on experience in energy efficiency program implementation, consulting, or engineering analysis.

Proficient in performing site assessments for HVAC, lighting, envelope, and process systems.

Skilled in energy savings calculations using engineering models, spreadsheets, or simulation tools (e.g., Ability to analyze utility usage data and perform baseline modeling or end-use disaggregation.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Python, R, MATLAB, or other energy modeling tools is a plus.

Professional Engineer (PE) license or Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credential preferred.

Work Authorization / Security Clearance Must pass background checks and pre-employment screening.

Work Environment Hybrid role based in Connecticut, with regular travel to client sites for assessments and meetings.
