Energy Systems Engineer

At ISO New England, we are committed to ensuring the safe and reliable flow of electricity in our region. As an Energy Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in this effort by studying the addition of new solar, wind, storage, and other types of generation to the New England system.

The position conducts and oversees new resource interconnection engineering studies, transmission planning studies, simulation of power system behavior, analysis of results, and development of recommendations to ensure the continued reliability and economic efficiency of the New England power system.

Key responsibilities include reviewing, analyzing, and managing dynamic system modeling information for proposed generation and other dynamic transmission equipment. You will also conduct system impact assessments of proposed new resources and oversee the development, completion, and approval of system impact studies for distributed energy resources.

Required skills and qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Power Engineering or Electrical Engineering, thorough knowledge of electric power system network analysis, transmission planning, and assessment techniques, and proficiency in the application of NERC, NPCC, and Transmission Planner/Planning Coordinator planning reliability standards and criteria.
