Job Description
Nexamp is seeking an Energy Storage Project Developer to lead the origination and development of energy storage projects on the East Coast. The role involves managing stakeholder relationships, project schedules, and budgets, while collaborating with the Energy Storage team. Applicants can work from Boston in a hybrid environment. Candidates should have at least four years of relevant experience and a passion for renewable energy.

What we’re looking for:
Nexamp is looking to add a Energy Storage Project Developer to our Nexamp Energy Storage Team (NEST). The Project Developer will lead origination and development opportunities for energy storage in an identified market within the East Coast. This role will lead efforts by interacting with offtake customers, landowners, permitting officials, etc. to secure projects and move them through to investment decision. This person will work closely with the larger Energy Storage team to tackle markets and identify customers who can benefit from storage systems. The Project Developer will report directly to our Director, Energy Storage Development. We are open to applicants in Boston, and are supporting a hybrid work environment.
What you’ll do:
• Originate and develop energy storage projects, simultaneously managing site origination, permitting, interconnection, tax negotiation, revenue contracting, and other development activities.
• Identify and interface with utilities, C&I customers, landowners, and other prospects to evaluate and secure new project opportunities.
• Manage proposal process for RFPs in a specified territory
• Evaluate site-related due diligence in support of project origination
• Work with the greater energy storage team to incorporate new markets and products into development opportunities
• Efficiently manage project schedules and budgets to ensure timely and cost-effective project completion.
• Communicate effectively with project stakeholders to facilitate the project permitting and approval process.
• Support internal finance, legal, technical, and construction teams to facilitate successful project financing and construction
• Manage project specific external consultants to support civil, permitting, and other development activities.
• Identify, manage, and resolve real estate issues, including but not limited to easements, access, and title concerns.
• Follow changes in the storage market and evaluate potential value that different offerings can bring to Nexamp projects
• Travel as needed; some evening and weekend work required
What you’ll bring:
• 4 years of relevant renewable energy project development or power industry experience
• Experience developing projects from inception through investment decision
• Ability to cultivate and manage relationships, especially with external stakeholders such as customers, landowners, local officials, and permitting agencies
• Bachelor's degree in related field
• Experience growing out a pipeline of projects in a new market preferred
• Experience with battery storage technologies preferred

• Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.
• Experience in showcasing initiative to make improvements to current work, processes, products, and services across the organization. We value accountability and an ownership mentality.
• Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
• Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
