Job Description
Waupaca Foundry is seeking an Energy Manager to lead corporate energy management activities aimed at reducing energy use. Responsibilities include monitoring energy consumption, promoting renewable resources, and implementing efficiency training. The ideal candidate will have a background in energy management, strong analytical skills, and experience with HVAC systems. A bachelor's degree in a related field and 7-10 years of experience are preferred. This position is based in Waupaca, WI.

Energy Manager
Role
Responsible for coordinating and directing corporate energy management activities in accordance with company energy use reduction goals.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
• Encourage the use of renewable and sustainable energy resources, benchmark energy consumption against best practice guidelines and facilitate and expand personnel training on energy efficiency.
• Monitor and analyze energy consumption at all company facilities and identify and prioritize areas for improvement.
• Verify energy consumption improvements and work to correct any significant deviations in energy consumption.
• Evaluate the operating performance of facility systems and equipment to determine improvement potential using knowledge of formalized energy management protocol.
• Work with plant teams to identify progress and setbacks at a facility level and monitor progress as compared to industry benchmarks.
• Vet and propose schedules for upgrade activities.
• Identify milestones and facilitate the timely completion of corporate energy use reduction goals.
• Develop and implement a carbon fuel use reduction program.
• Build support at all levels of the organization for energy initiatives and goals through program communications and training.
• Assist in budgeting for plant energy costs.
• Promote synergy between cost reductions and energy improvements.

Qualifications/Skills
• Analytical math skills and experience in statistics and data analysis.
• General computer and software competence.
• Knowledge of electrical, combustion and HVAC equipment systems.
• Experience in administering management program systems (ISO 50001 preferred).
• Ability to manage a budget and personnel with strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. Applicant should have strong writing skills and be comfortable with public speaking.
• Professional designation of Certified Energy Manager (CEM) is preferred but not required.
Preferred Education/Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, energy engineering or related field plus at least 7-10 years energy management experience, including energy assessment and training responsibilities.
