About the position

The Energy Auditor I at Franklin Energy is responsible for providing energy efficiency services to small business tenants, building owners, and utility customers. This role involves conducting energy assessments, recommending modifications to energy systems, and promoting participation in energy efficiency programs. The position emphasizes exemplary customer service and aims to enhance clients' understanding of energy efficiency benefits.

Responsibilities
• Promote the energy efficiency program to customers through scheduled energy assessments.

• Work with building owners and property managers to provide energy efficiency advice and assistance.

• Deliver professional, high-quality services to utility customers.

• Complete walk-through energy assessments identifying key energy-saving opportunities.
,
• Install energy-saving devices including lighting and thermostats.
,
• Clearly explain energy assessment findings and rebates to building owners.
,
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the program's strategic direction.
,
• Document on-site energy efficiency opportunities and provide follow-up to customers.
,
• Discuss technical elements of energy-consuming equipment with clients.
,
• Enter data into spreadsheets and databases to manage projects and determine energy savings.
,
• Maintain a professional appearance and build rapport with customers.
,
• Provide written summary reports to customers and Program Managers as required.
,
• Collaborate in a team atmosphere for continuous improvement.
,
• Lead presentations promoting energy efficiency programs.
,
• Perform direct installations of energy-saving measures in customer facilities.
,
• Conduct inventory counts and submit reports as requested.
,
• Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of warehouse and vehicle areas.

• Perform routine vehicle safety inspections and submit reports.

Requirements
• Associates degree or equivalent experience.
,
• 1-2 years of experience in marketing, community organizing, or a related field (preferred).
,
• BPI Fundamentals or above certification is required.
,
• Experience in residential building construction or HVAC systems installation, sales, or service.

Nice-to-haves
• Advanced Home Energy Professional (HEP) certification.

• Building Analyst certification.
,
• Envelope Professional certification.
,
• Residential Building Envelope certification.
,
• Whole House Air Leakage Controller Installer certification.

• Experience in air sealing and building insulation.
