Job Description

WWF-India is seeking an Education Officer for their Bhopal office to implement environmental education programs for diverse audiences, engage local communities, and promote sustainability initiatives. The role requires a postgraduate degree in a related field and 3-4 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include developing educational materials, organizing events, and preparing reports. Proficiency in English and Hindi is mandatory. WWF-India encourages applications from qualified women.
WWF-India is one of the largest organisations, engaged in wildlife and nature conservation for over 50 years. We invite applications from candidates for the position of Education Officer to be based in our Bhopal office.

Location, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh

Job Profile:
• Implement environmental education programs and activities for various audiences, including schools, community groups, and the general public.
• Engage local civil society and volunteer activities through outreach programs to involve them in environmental conservation actively, and sustainability initiatives and campaigns.
• Identify key audiences and customize education methods to suit their needs.
• Promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices through seminars, conferences, workshops, presentations, guided tours, nature walks and other educational events.
• Create educational materials and resources such as leaflets, posters, and interactive displays to facilitate learning and awareness about environmental issues.
• Prepare timely technical reports, project documents, monthly updates, and quarterly bulletins.
• Assist other projects and tasks of the WWF-India MPCFSO team across the state as needed.

Requirements
Desired Education, Experience and Skills:
• Post Graduate in Forestry, NRM, Environmental Science, Wildlife, Botany/ Zoology from a recognized university or academic institute.
• Candidates with 3-4 years of experience (after obtaining Master’s degree)
• Experience with conservation education (nature trails, workshops, courses, camps, citizen science) to engage diverse target audiences will be preferable.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing environmental education programs.
• Conceptual knowledge in natural resources and wildlife, biodiversity conservation and environmental issues.
• Interest in biodiversity and environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with an aptitude for interacting effectively with a diverse target audience at all organization levels.
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Efficient event organization skills, ability to multi-task and manage working relationships with all relevant stakeholders and time management skills required
• Basic computer literacy and functional use of Microsoft Office tools, Google / One Drive and social platforms.
• Proficiency in spoken English and Hindi are mandatory.
