EHS-Safety Officer

Testech Group is seeking an EHS-Safety Officer in General Trias, Cavite, Philippines. The role involves implementing safety programs, conducting training, risk assessments, and inspections, as well as ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Candidates should have a BS in Engineering or Physical Sciences, at least 3 years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires in-person attendance.
• *BASIC FUNCTION:

Responsible for providing assistance in implementing programs, activities and policies designed to ensure a safe & healthy environment and for ensuring adherence to company mandated safety & environmental standards set by the local and national government agencies.
• *DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**
• Performs a duties and responsibilities of the Safety Officer by developing and conducting safety trainings, hazard and risk assessment and accident / incident investigation.
• Conduct yearly Work Environment Measurement (WEM).
• Conduct Safety Training to the newly hired employee prior to the start of work.
• Coordinates with various government, professional and civic agencies and organizations on matters concerning the promotion, maintenance and/or compliance of industrial and environmental safety practice and activities.
• Formulate safety plans for training, drill and awareness programs.
• Conduct monthly inspection of firefighting equipment.
• Keeping informed and initiate necessary dissemination of all applicable rules and regulation of the Occupational Safety & Health Standards of all the Department of Labor and Employment.
• Performs other duties as maybe assigned from time to time.
• *JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Educational Attainment
• BS Engineering or Physical Sciences or Technology Degree
• Work Experience
• At least 3 years’ experience on the same field
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
• Basic understanding of safety engineering requirements for electrical, mechanical, chemical, and physical hazards
• Basic knowledge of environmental, safety, and industrial hygiene regulations and policies
• Has ability to participate in a cross-functional team environment; effective analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Can be counted on to exceed goals successfully, strong emphasis on measurement and performance
• Possesses leadership abilities
• Must demonstrate resourcefulness, flexibility, time management, problem solving and analyzing skills, and is keen to details
• Proficient in basic computer applications (MS Office)
• Good communication and coordination skills
