Job Description

PMX Industries, Inc. is seeking a Director of Quality in Cedar Rapids, IA, to lead quality management across manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include overseeing a quality team, ensuring compliance with regulations, driving continuous improvement, and aligning quality initiatives with business objectives. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree, 7 years of experience, and ISO 9001 certification, focusing on leadership, budget management, and customer support.
As we scale our operations, we’re seeking a Director of Quality to lead our quality strategy and ensure world-class standards across the organization. As the Director of Quality, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality management across our manufacturing operations. This includes leading a cross-functional quality team, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, driving continuous improvement, and aligning quality initiatives with overall business objectives. This is a high-impact leadership role where you’ll shape culture, influence operational excellence, and reinforce our reputation for quality.

Primary Duties:
• Expected to follow all safety rules and policies and work in a manner that protects themselves and other stakeholders from hazards and injuries.
• Establish departmental goals, action plans and reviews for quality, productivity and yield improvement, continuous improvement initiatives and preventative quality measures.
• Work closely with Production and Production Control managers, and Sales and Marketing groups to direct and accomplish quality initiatives.
• Interface with customers, internal or external, for the establishment and maintenance of in-process and final product acceptance criteria. Develop, review and maintain appropriate process controls in support of product acceptance criteria.
• Facilitate investigation and resolution of product nonconformance, including root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
• Monitor internal and external quality trends, and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and team problem solving efforts in support of quality system.
• Act as ISO: 9001 Management Representative.
• Administer customer complaint system and manage RMA disposition. Follow up on the effectiveness of the corrective actions.
• Resolve chronic customer issues as demonstrated by external quality performance through dedicated efforts.
• Work with customers to provide technical support and address product specification/application issues.
• Provide on site customer support to resolve critical quality problems needing urgent attention.
• Provide guidance and direction to Quality Engineers in developing and optimizing manufacturing processes and establishing equipment capabilities and their utilization.
• Develop and maintain departmental budget.
• Maintain high level of safety performance within the department.
• Provide training and development opportunities for subordinates.
• Manage compliance with PMX Quality System.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; and 7 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• ISO 9001 Internal Auditor Certification.

Skills Requirements:
• Development of a QMS structure.
• Leadership and Supervisory skills.
• Development and understanding of financial reports.
• Ability to monitor, plan and organize budgets.
• Quality processes and problem solving skills.
• Knowledge of Quality Management System Measurement system analysis and basic/intermediate statistics.
• Maintain current knowledge of professional trends.
• Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, SharePoint.
• General understanding of PCs and related software experience.
• Sound communication, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to plan work.
• Must be able to communicate in English for all business / job related transactions.

Work Environment:

Office environment; frequent time spent in the production facilities. Occasional travel.
