Job Description
Ground Zero is hiring a Coordinator/Deputy Manager for Climate projects in Mumbai, India. The role involves managing environmental initiatives like tree planting and water conservation, requiring 2-4 years of experience for coordinators and 6+ years for Deputy Managers. About the role:
This role manages and implements a variety of environmental/climate projects across India, including tree planting, water conservation, and waste management, by working with various partners.
Key Duties:
• Project Execution: Plan and carry out environmental projects, ensuring they meet goals and deadlines.
• Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with government agencies, NGOs, schools, and community members.
• Collaboration: Work with different groups to ensure successful project implementation.
• Communication: Create educational materials and promote awareness about environmental issues.
• Community Engagement: Mobilize schools, colleges, and NGOs to participate in project activities.
• Monitoring and Reporting: Track project progress, document activities, and provide regular reports to donors.
• Financial Management: Manage project budgets and track expenses.
• Site Visits: Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and document findings.
• Proposal Development: Assist in creating project proposals, budgets, and agreements.
• Social Media: Provide updates for social media and website content.
• Environmental Research: Conduct research and provide input for project development.
• Conduct Environmental Activities: Organize and lead nature trails, cleanups, planting events, and awareness sessions.
Requirements:
• Master's degree in Horticulture, Agriculture, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Strong ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent community outreach and mobilization skills.
• Knowledge of afforestation, Miyawaki planting, and mangrove restoration is a plus.
• Proficiency in English and Hindi (Marathi is a plus).
• Team player with a willingness to travel extensively.
