Character Designer & Concept Artist

Alterra Indonesia is seeking a Character Designer & Concept Artist to join their creative team remotely. Responsibilities include collaborating on character concepts, creating detailed backgrounds and personality traits, and producing concept art. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree, strong artistic skills, proficiency in digital art software, and excellent storytelling abilities. This is a full-time position requiring a minimum commitment of 3 months.

AVATARA is excited to welcome you to join our creative team! You will conceptualize and bring a character alive through your creativity and working closely with our writers and social media team
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with writers, directors, and other team members to develop character concepts based on narrative requirements, themes, and objectives.
• Translate verbal and written descriptions into visually compelling character designs that reflect their background stories, personalities, and roles
• Craft detailed background stories for characters, including their origins, motivations, and personal histories.
• Define unique personality traits, quirks, and characteristics that distinguish each character and inform their behavior and interactions within the narrative.
• Produce concept art, sketches, and illustrations to explore different visual iterations of characters, including variations in appearance, costume designs, and expressions.

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in any major, preferably in literature, marketing, or related fields
• Strong artistic skills with a focus on character design and concept art.
• Proficiency in digital art software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar tools would be a plus
• Excellent storytelling abilities and a knack for crafting compelling background stories and personalities.
• Creative mindset with a passion for exploration and experimentation.
• Ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Available for min. 3 months employment
