Position Description
Are you ready to power the heart of our facility? Join our team as a Central Plant Operator/Engineer, where you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and optimizing our critical utility systems. As a part of our Calibration and Maintenance team you will be responsible for ensuring seamless operations, troubleshooting challenges, and creating a comfortable environment for all team members. We want you to be a key player in driving the success of our facility's central plant operations and contributing significantly to the enhancement of the quality of our medical products.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitoring Systems: Regularly monitoring and inspecting central plant systems, including boilers, chillers, pumps, and other equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Equipment Operation: Operating and controlling equipment to maintain optimal conditions for HVAC systems, such as regulating temperature, humidity, and air quality.
• Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving issues with the central plant equipment, conducting repairs, or coordinating maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
• Safety Compliance: Ensuring that all operations comply with safety regulations and environmental standards. This includes monitoring fuel usage, emissions, and waste disposal.
• Collaboration: Coordinating with other facility staff, engineers, and maintenance personnel to optimize plant performance and address any issues that may arise.
Position Requirements
• 2-5 years of experience as a Central Plant Operator or in a similar role.
• Hands-on experience with central utility systems, including boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, and related equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, diagnose problems and make data-driven decisions to optimize system performance.
• Flexibility to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and the ability to adapt to new technologies and stay updated on industry advancements.
• Experience in implementing and adhering to safety standards to ensure a secure working environment.
• Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) systems and operational logic.
Preferred
• Collaborative mindset to work effectively with a team of facility professionals.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with other facility staff and convey information effectively with the ability to report system status, issues, and resolutions clearly and concisely.
• Agility in addressing unexpected challenges, with the ability to quickly assess situations and implement solutions to minimize downtime.
• Willingness to take initiative in suggesting improvements, implementing best practices, and contributing to the overall efficiency of central plant operations.
• Understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS) and control logic, including system schematics and physical wiring.
