Job Description
The Carbon Finance Coordinator at World Vision International in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, will manage climate change and environmental projects, focusing on carbon financing. Responsibilities include project planning, evaluation, community engagement, and reporting. • Activity
- Coordinate the planning, implementation, and evaluation of climate change and environmental projects, especially those involving carbon financing mechanisms.
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks to track project progress, impact, and sustainability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities, partners, and government agencies related to climate change and environmental projects.
- Possess a strong understanding of climate change issues, environmental management, and carbon finance mechanisms, including Voluntary Carbon offset and other carbon markets.
- Prepare detailed reports on project progress, findings, and lessons learned, ensuring adherence to World Vision's reporting standards.
- Support the development and implementation of capacity-building initiatives to ensure local communities have the knowledge and skills to manage and sustain their environmental projects.
- Work collaboratively with other departments within World Vision Ethiopia and external partners to ensure effective project implementation and knowledge sharing.
- Support the organization's advocacy efforts on climate change and environmental issues, and effectively communicate project results to a wide range of audiences.
- Identify and document best practices and lessons learned from project implementation, contributing to the organization's knowledge base.
- Support FMNR Movement Catalyst Project Manager for FMNR Scale up of FMNR across the regions through coordination with Regional Liaison Coordinators
- Any additional tasks provided by immediate manager
• Qualifications Required:**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science, forestry, agriculture, or related development studies.
- Strong knowledge of climate change, environmental management, and carbon finance mechanisms.
- Significant bi-lateral donor grant experience with program implementation, funding acquisition, and reporting
- Must be a creative individual with strong sense of priorities and organizational skills and an ability to work with diverse teams across considerable distances
• Work Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in project management, particularly in the areas of climate change, environment, and carbon finance
• Technical Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Experience in grant writing and proposal development.
- Must be able to negotiate ideas within and outside the World Vision partnership, particularly with donor communities and government.

- Experience in roles in NRM, landscape restoration and/or forestry
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and networking
- Demonstrated experience in organizing and facilitating training and capacity building in NRM (experience in FMNR is considered an advantage)
- Must be a creative individual with strong sense of priorities and organizational skills and an ability to work with diverse teams across considerable distances
- Must be able to negotiate ideas within and outside the World Vision partnership, particularly with donor communities and government.
- Optimum level of interpersonal skills to keep up internal and external harmonious working relation
- Quick learner with ability to think strategically and creatively
- Excellent ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Federal language/s
- Proficient computer literacy using of Microsoft Office Microsoft Word, Excel & MS Power Point
• Location : Addis Ababa_Head office _frequent travel to project sites
