SD+ (sdplus.io) is a resource planning platform, built to empower project teams - developers, architects, engineers, and consultants to deliver high performance buildings. We enable decision-makers with data-driven insights to achieve their sustainability goals, enhance resource efficiency, and streamline the planning process. As we expand our product capabilities, we are seeking a Research Analyst to drive algorithm development and intervention strategies, contributing as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

Role Overview

As a Building Performance Analyst, you will be responsible for researching, designing, and developing analytical frameworks, algorithms, and intervention strategies that enhance sdplus.io's product offerings for real estate.

Key Responsibilities
• Built Environment Expertise: Serve as the go-to expert for sustainability and resource planning methodologies within the built environment sector, ensuring that models align with industry standards and best practices.
• Algorithm Development: Design, test, and validate algorithms for performance-driven interventions in energy modeling, material optimization, water balance assessment, and cost estimation, among others.
• Intervention Strategies Derivation: Develop and refine strategic interventions based on simulations, real-world case studies, and industry best practices to enhance decision-making within sdplus.io.
• Collaboration: Work closely with software developers and product teams to translate algorithms into scalable and efficient code for integration into the platform.
• Performance Validation: Conduct rigorous testing and sensitivity analysis to validate the effectiveness and accuracy of developed interventions.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with emerging trends in sustainable design, AI-driven modeling, and decision science to enhance the platform’s capabilities.
• Data Analysis & Modeling: Utilize optimization techniques to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights.

Qualification & Skills
• A Bachelor's or Master’s in any AEC field - Architects, Civil Engineers and other built environment professionals, with a strong interest in Sustainability.
• Experience in algorithm development, data modeling, and optimization techniques.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data into actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills to translate research into product requirements.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to navigate complex sustainability challenges.
• Expertise in sustainability analytics, energy efficiency, and decarbonization strategies. Experience with climate modeling, built-environment analysis, or regulatory frameworks (Preferred).
• Experience in product development or research within technology-driven environments (Preferred).
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects effectively (Preferred).
• A proactive approach to learning new technologies and methodologies relevant to algorithm development (Preferred).
