Bio Fuel Lead

Thermax Limited seeks a Bio Fuel Lead to innovate and scale sustainable biofuel technologies in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra. Responsibilities include driving operational excellence, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering collaboration across teams. The role requires 10-15 years of experience in biofuels and a degree in Chemical or Biochemical Engineering. Occasional travel is required. This is a full-time position focused on biofuel production and sustainability initiatives.
Job Description
• Key Objectives
• Lead innovation and scale-up of sustainable biofuel technologies.
• Drive operational excellence in bioprocessing and biofuel production.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and maximize environmental performance.
• Foster collaboration across research, operations, and commercial teams.
• Major Deliverables
• Successful development and commercialization of biofuel production processes.
• Optimization of fermentation, distillation, and separation techniques to improve yield and reduce costs.
• Execution of pilot projects and new technology trials.
• Compliance with safety, environmental, and statutory regulations.
• Implementation of data-driven process improvements and sustainability initiatives.
• Training and mentoring of plant and R&D teams.
• Regular stakeholder communication and technical reporting.

• 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in biofuels production, bioprocessing, or related industrial operations.
• Experience in both R&D and plant operations will be preferred.
• Qualifications
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or related disciplines.
• Good to have, but not mandatory – Ph.D

• Location: RTIC, Chinchwad Factory
• Desired type of Experience
• Proven track record in biofuels, biodiesel, ethanol, waste-to-energy, or algae-based fuels.
• Experience in scaling technologies from lab/pilot to commercial scale.
• Exposure to advanced fermentation, extraction, and bioconversion processes.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools, process simulation, and modeling software.
• Understanding of environmental standards, regulatory compliance, and sustainability best practices.
