Northrop Grumman is seeking an Associate Supply Chain Subcontract Specialist in Odenton, MD. The role involves sourcing and procuring goods and services, analyzing supplier proposals, and collaborating with quality teams. While primarily supporting the Elkton and Rocket Center sites, remote telecommute options are available for suitable candidates. Northrop Grumman's Defense Systems sector is in need of an Associate Supply Chain Procurement Specialist (Level 1) to support the Propulsion Systems & Controls (PS&C) operating unit. The position will support our Rocket Center, West Virginia and Elkton, MD sites. Remote telecommute options may be considered for the right candidate.
Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. Position Summary

Sources and procures goods and services of a commodity nature from various suppliers.

Initiates Requests for Quotations and Proposals, receiving and analyzing the proposed pricing from potential suppliers.

Collaborates with the quality organization to evaluate and monitor supplier quality and reliability, as well as their ability to meet required delivery schedules.

Works alongside internal customers to ensure that specifications are suitable for the required services or products.

Identifies opportunities to reduce costs, enhance efficiency, and manage risks through targeted negotiations.

Issues purchase orders as necessary.

Manages the performance of purchase orders, ensuring compliance with all public law requirements and company policies, including import/export regulations.

Employs sound business practices and evaluates supplier performance as part of follow-up activities.

Ensures that the appropriate documentation is provided to the logistics, transportation, and warehouse organization for accurate receipt recording.

Reviews and approves supplier payments as required. Utilizes process tools such as Lean Six Sigma with suppliers to promote quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications Associate Supply Chain ProcurementSpecialist (Level 1):

This position emphasizes skills and experience. Will consider one of following: High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 4 years of related Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management experience. Will also consider a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or related field with 0 years of experience

Must be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD Secret Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in supply chain, business management, contracts or other related field

Prior Supply Chain experience

Demonstrated management/Leadership abilities

Good Organizational Skills

Price Cost Analysis experience

Proficiency in Microsoft office suite

Costpoint, SAP or other ERP purchasing system experience

Knowledge of multiple contract types (T&M, Cost Reimbursable, FFP, etc.)

Understanding of Supply Chain Subcontracts

Experience conducting oral presentations to leadership

This position falls under a Federal Explosives License issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for this location. Candidates hired into this role will be required to complete and submit an Employee Possessor Questionnaire to ATF for approval to be a possessor.
Salary Range: $55,600.00 - $83,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
