Appliance Park, located in Louisville, KY, is seeking a dedicated EHS Associate Specialist to support our off-shift operations and play a key role in achieving our safety and sustainability goals.

How You'll Create Possibilities
• EHS Operations (60% of your time): You’ll provide functional EHS support to operations teams across Appliance Park, focusing on compliance, risk mitigation, and performance improvement.
• Implement engineering controls to eliminate hazards and prevent injuries.
• Conduct audits, inspections, and ergonomic assessments.
• Use data analytics to identify trends and strategic opportunities.
• Partner with site teams to execute injury reduction and risk management plans.
• Support environmental compliance programs, including air emissions, water discharge, and waste management.
• Train teams on EHS compliance, new regulations, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with project leaders and contractors to ensure safe work plans and equipment reviews.
• Participate in incident investigations and apply Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) principles to identify and resolve root causes.
• Culture and Communication (15% of your time): Drive a culture of collaboration, problem-solving, and safety excellence.
• Provide exceptional customer service as a technical resource for compliance and safety.
• Work with operations teams to execute the annual EHS operating plan.
• Foster open reporting and a problem-solving mindset across teams.
• Management Systems and Compliance (25% of your time): Standardize and integrate EHS systems into daily operations.
• Implement robust EHS management processes to achieve sustainable compliance and performance results.
• Manage high-risk processes, including lockout/tagout, overhead crane safety, and ergonomics.
• Support the site's annual EHS self-assessment and training initiatives.
What You'll Bring to Our Team
Required Qualifications:
• Experience: 2+ years in EHS roles, focusing on safety, environmental, or ergonomics compliance.
• Education: Bachelor's degree (completed or in progress) in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• Skills: Strong communication, data analysis, and project management abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Advanced knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
• Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Experience working with unionized environments.
• Audit experience and advanced computer skills.
