Art Collection Associate

Mubadala is seeking an Art Collection Associate in Abu Dhabi to support collection development, manage logistics for acquisitions and exhibitions, and maintain relationships with galleries and institutions. Responsibilities include artwork evaluation, documentation management, budget oversight, and community engagement initiatives. The role requires strong organizational skills, interpersonal abilities, and knowledge of legal aspects related to art acquisition. This position is aimed at experienced UAE Nationals.

What Will You Do
• Support Collection Development: Assist the Head of the Art Collection Department in managing and developing the collection.
• Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with galleries, artists, museums, cultural institutions, and governmental/non-governmental entities.
• Logistics Coordination: Manage logistics for artwork acquisitions, loans, and exhibitions.
• Outreach Efforts: Lead efforts to identify potential artists, commission opportunities, and collaborations with galleries.
• Artwork Evaluation: Research and evaluate artworks for inclusion, ensuring alignment with cultural and corporate objectives.
• Logistical Support: Provide support for the installation, deinstallation, and transportation of artworks.
• Compliance Collaboration: Work with procurement and legal teams to ensure compliance with legal, contractual, and financial aspects.
• Daily Operations Oversight: Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring artworks are well-maintained, displayed, and accessible.
• Documentation and Inventory: Manage documentation, inventory, loans, and conservation efforts.
• Record Maintenance: Maintain comprehensive records of each artwork, including provenance and exhibition history.
• Database Management: Manage art collection databases and digital records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
• Digital Archives: Ensure organized digital archives and image libraries for easy retrieval and sharing.
• Budget Oversight: Oversee the art budget, including financial planning and expense management.
• Conservation Management: Manage the conservation and restoration of artworks with external experts.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate engagement with stakeholders through educational programs, workshops, and outreach initiatives.
• Cultural Engagement: Develop initiatives to connect the collection with the community, fostering dialogue around art and culture.

Qualifications:
• Education: a bachelor's degree in art history, museum studies, or a related field.
